Planned Maintenance

A well-maintained ship is the key to safe and profitable operations. Especially now, with increasing maritime competition, demanding vessel schedules and commercial pressures, a well structured and executed planned maintenance system is a critical part of vessel operations.

Vessel specific planned maintenance activities and implemented with the combined efforts of our capable shipboard staff under close coordination with the technical superintendents.

Planned Repairs & Dry-docking

Major repairs & dry-docking of our vessels are planned on a periodic basis depending on the vessel’s schedules, period since last dry-docking and vessel performance. The whole activity is undertaken as a project which is executed under very stringent timelines, budgets and supervision of experienced superintendents.

Vessel Performance Management

A. P. Moller - Maersk Group is highly committed to the protection of our environment. As a result of this group-vide policy we make a conscientious effort on ensuring the efficient operations of our vessels to minimize their footprint on the environment.

Under our performance management programme we continuously monitor performance of the vessel’s engine, hull and propeller and ensure timely corrective action is undertaken. In the longer term periodic benchmark exercises are conducted between similar vessels to ascertain the level of a vessel’s performance.
